About Me

A native of Hamblen County, I was born at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital in the Summer of 1972. Was raised in both Hamblen County and Knox County, but there was something that drew him back to this area as an adult. A 2007 graduate of TTC in Morristown where I received a degree in Graphic Design, and now work for a local publications company.
A longtime interest of mine is the area's history. I started studying my  genealogy several years ago,and discovered that having to study the history of ones' family, the knowledge of local history is a necessity. This is how I became even more interested in Hamblen County and its many communities. One of my favorite hobbies is the collection of local photographs, memorabilia, and documents related to the history and people of Hamblen County. My family roots that date back generations in not only Tennessee, but the Morristown area also. My 5th Great grandfather was Gideon Morris, one of the area's first settlers and a member of the family in which Morristown was named.
Married in 1999 at the historic Rose Center to Tammy Banner-Hobby and parents of two daughters, Ghable Isabella Hobby and the late Aislyn Maria Hobby. The Hobby family currently live in the Whitesburg community.
